Sossusvlei, Namibia's famous highlight in the heart of the Namib Desert , is a huge clay pan, enclosed by giant sand dunes. Some of the
spectacular dunes 300 metres high, reputedly the highest in the world.
The Etosha National Park is one
of Southern Africa's finest and most important Game Reserves.
Etosha Game park was declared a National Park in 1907 and covers an
area of 22 270 square km, it is home to 114 mammal species, 340 bird
species, 110 reptile species, 16 amphibian species and, surprisingly,
one species of fish. The Etosha Park is one of the first places on any
itinerary designed for a holiday in Namibia.
Etosha, meaning "Great White Place", is dominated by a
massive clay pan.
The Chobe National Park,
which is the second largest national park in Botswana and covers 10,566
square kilometres, has one of the greatest concentrations of game found
on the African continent. Its uniqueness in the abundance of wildlife
and the true African nature of the region, offers a safari experience
of a lifetime.
Situated
about 10 km from the city of Livingstone, Zambia, is one of the world' s seven natural wonders and one of the most spectacular
natural sites in the world - The Victoria Falls.
The
Falls are 1.7 km wide with a volume of 9 million litres per second
tearing down at a vertical drop of 100 metres. The spray of the falls
can be clearly seen from a distance of 30km and hence it's local name, Mosi-oa-Tunya,
"The smoke that thunders"
