PASSPORT &
VISAS
All Clients should be in possession
of valid passports with the relevant visas for all countries to be entered.
INSURANCE
It is strongly advised
that all clients have travel insurance to cover them in case of unforeseen
circumstances.
PARTICIPATION
Most of our clients prefer the
participation option – this saves on tour expenses for extra crew but also
ensures a more interactive tour – they normally get asked to pitch their own tents,
help pack the vehicle, assist with meal preparation and wash up afterwards –
the “Many hands make light work” approach is best here J For a
slightly more upmarket feel to a tour we can provide staff to set up camp and
do all the other chores for your clients.
AGE LIMIT
This will depend on the clients
own target market but we feel that for the independent and young at heart
traveller – and that could be anything from 18 to 65! - a good sense of
humour and a degree of flexibility will suffice.
PRE & POST
TRIP ACCOMMODATION
We can arrange pre- and post
trip accommodation for your clients as well as extensions for Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, Sun City and Cape Town.
AIRPORT ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
We normally use our own vehicles
for airport transfers for your groups but meet-and-greet for individual
travellers can be arranged.
TOUR REPORTS &
EVALUATIONS
In order to maintain and improve
our standards of service, we normally request passengers to take a few
moments to complete our evaluation questionnaire at the end of each tour. We
normally send a summary of these results to our clients on a quarterly basis.
LUGGAGE
As with any adventure orientated
tour we suggest soft luggage rather than bulky suitcases – it makes the
packing and handling so much easier. Due to luggage constraints we would
advise to keep luggage to a minimum - 1 backpack and one daypack per person.
CAMPING EQUIPMENT
We provide matresses and tents but clients has to
provide their own sleeping bags and towels.
ACCOMMODATION
We have an extensive list
of available campsites – from luxury campsites to exlusive sites with no
facilities – to choose from. We have rated our accomodated establishments
into budget, comfortable and boutique styles and our STO contracts and
preferential rates will make sure that you stay competative in your market.
FIRST AID
All vehicles are equipped with a basic first aid
kit. It is advisable for you to carry a personal medical kit. As a
precaution your travel insurance should include cover for medical expenses.
MALARIA http://www.malaria.org.za/
As Malaria is evident in parts of Southern and East Africa it is recommended that prophylactics should be taken. Up-to-date advice can be
sought from your doctor or a local pharmacist. Mosquito repellent is an
invaluable item.
MEALS & DRINKS
We normally suggest to have a
cook onboard for both accommodated and camping style tours as the availability
of meals can sometimes be limited. On the camping type tours most clients
include a “food kitty” that pays for most meals, juice, tea and coffee.
Alcoholic beverages is normally for the clients own account but the provision
of these can be structured according to your own needs.
SMOKING POLICY
For the comfort and safety of
everyone, we do not allow smoking in the vehicles or inside our tents.
However, there will be ample opportunity for those who wish to smoke during
the many stops en route.
ITINERARIES
Whilst we endeavour to adhere to
the contracted itineraries of our clients it has to be said that we are
travelling in Africa and occasionally things happen which may require changes
to be made. In such instances we will do our best to minimise the impact these
changes might have and try to substitute it with a similar product.
